Please describe why this activity was significant
This program provided the opportunity to not only inform these young students about American history, but also nurture common values and dispel myths about racism in the U.S. Students gained a better understanding about social justice and the value the American people place on equality. The forum also permitted students to pose questions and express their feelings on hot topics such as US foreign policy in the Middle East, Islam in the U.S., and President Obama's administration.
