Press Releases 2006 - 2007
Electronic Visa Application Form
Beginning November 1, 2006, the U.S. Consulate General in Casablanca will require all applications for all categories of nonimmigrant visas to be submitted using the Electronic Visa Application Form (EVAF). This includes business, tourist, student, exchange visitor, temporary worker, press official, and diplomatic visas. The EVAF facilitates more accurate data entry and faster processing, thus applicants do not have to wait as long for interviews. This is a worldwide policy being implemented at all U.S. embassies and consulates.
The visa application form and instructions are available in French, English and several others languages on the Internet, through the U.S. Consulate General website at http://casablanca.usconsulate.gov. There is no charge for filling out the EVAF online.
Otherwise visa procedures remain unchanged. Appointments for business and tourist visa interviews must be made online. Prior to making an appointment, visa applicants must complete and print the EVAF. Each EVAF has a unique barcode number which is required to request a visa interview appointment via the Internet. Student and exchange visitor visa applicants do not require appointments, but must use the EVAF. Applicants should not send the form by e-mail, but must present the printed EVAF at the time of their interview.
If an applicant receives assistance preparing an EVAF, the person providing assistance must also list his/her name and sign the application form. Every applicant must sign his or her visa application and will be held responsible for the accuracy of the information listed on it.
